The Death of the Media

Bob Krumm observes that it is no wonder that the traditional media is in the throes of death:

52 professional media outlets have asked to attend an arraignment hearing for some singer accused of beating his girlfriend . . . meanwhile the world depends on amateur footage to get honest reporting from Iran.

Indeed.

It's a "news"paper.

Linda Noe has taken to calling Morristown's pathetic rag of a paper a "news"paper. I love that convention and I would say that is about right, as the Citizen Tribune has deserved that title (or worse) for as long as I can remember. Still, the Tribune doesn't frustrate me as much as the Johnson City dePressed, a "news"paper that all thinking people should consider boycotting, as I have done for several years. Notwithstanding their liberal views which are reason enough to boycott them, I just don't like paying good money for what, in my opinion, is a bad product.

How stupid does Reuters think we are?

This just takes the cake. Reuters claims they weren't misrepresenting Spitzer as a Republican; they were merely indicating that he was the person on the right side of the photograph. Liars, plain and simple.

Name that Party

I've noticed several stories about Eliot Spitzer that refuse to mention that he is a Democrat. Funny how the media do not want to tell the truth about that. Now, some of them have even gone so far as to label him as a Republican. Is it any wonder that these people aren't trusted. They are complete liars. Not only do they not deserve our respect, they deserve our contempt.

Mainstream Media Continues to Show its Anti-War Bias

On the way to the office yesterday morning, I heard a news story on ABC News regarding the exploding rate of suicide among troops. One would be lead to believe that our troops were under so much stress that they were offing themselves at high rates. After delving into the numbers, it appears that the media is just pushing its anti-war agenda. It appears that the suicide rate for soldiers is actually less than for civilians, historically. Also, it could be a random spike in the data. I believe the sample size may be too small to be given much credence in any event. With a small sample, even a few deaths can cause the percentage to spike.

Bloggers are all over this, so the media may let the story die (as it should). The true story here is about the media suicide, not the Army. The media's credibility is already in the dumper and a few more stories like this won't help.

Well they are, you know, on the other side. I guess this is to be expected.

Al Gore just keeps getting hammered.

That happens a lot when you are a hypocrite. People love nothing more when the preacher gets caught in a sin. Remember Jimmy Swaggart? Remember the "evangelical" who was on drugs and was soliciting a gay prostitute? Al Gore is the preacher of the church of global warming. Make no mistake, it is a religion. Of course, the mainstream media will give Al Gore a free pass on this.
