Obama thinks teachers are more important than parents

Geez. In case you needed one more reason to not vote for Obama, in his speech to the American Federation of Teachers, Obama had this to say:

Real change is finally giving our kids everything they need to have a fighting chance in today’s world. That begins with recognizing that the single most important factor in determining a child’s achievement is not the color of their skin or where they come from; it’s not who their parents are or how much money they have. It’s who their teacher is.

First, Mr. Obama wants to "give" the kids everything. Apparently, there is no need to earn anything when the nanny state can provide it. At first, I thought the mere suggestion that a teacher was more important than a parent to be complete poppycock. However, I realize that I was wrong. In Obama's world of indoctrinating children to be good subjects, the teacher is more important than the parent. My bad.
